Best Contractor Table Saw 2017

You are always going to have problems trying to find a good contractor table saw because, by definition, it has to be good enough, meaning accurate and precise, that you can use it on various paid jobs. However, if you have some experience with table saws, you will know that the best ones are the cabinet table saws and you will not be able to keep yourself from comparing one with the other. However, the good news is that some of the latest modes of contractor models that have come up in the market in 2014, are actually just as good as any cabinet model in terms of accuracy. That is why, it was relatively easy for us to find the best contractor table saw offers and review them in terms of accuracy and power.

The one subject that our contractor table saws reviews will not touch upon is the ability of the saw to process the dust. That is because, although all of the units we are going to talk about, do have some form of vacuum and dust removal, they are nowhere near as good as a cabinet table saw. They cannot be since they do not operate on the same principle. However, we are going to look at these table saws in terms of their accuracy and power, and also we are going to look at some other factors like their Amazon star rating and price. You can check out some of these features in the table below, but if you really want the scoop on them, check out the in depth reviews that follow.

The best compromise that you can get between price and quality when it comes to a contractor table saw is the DeWalt DWE7480. It is small enough that you can carry it around to any job site, but powerful enough that you can cut through anything from pressed wood to hard wood floors. It has the standard 15 amp DeWalt motor that you can find on bigger units and it develops 4800 rotations per minute or RPM. That speed is crucial because the 10 inch blade actually rips more than cuts through the wood so the faster the blade spins the cleaner the cut will be. The DeWalt DWE7480 weighs in at just 45 lbs. so it is light enough that you can take it with you on a bus or on a train if the job requires you to.

However the real reason why the DeWalt DWE7480 deserves one of our in depth contractor table saw reviews is because its fence measuring system is one of the most accurate ones on the market today. In fact, the reason why many professionals would shy away from a contractor table saw and would prefer a cabinet one, was because of the accuracy of the fence on the latter units. All that has changed with the DeWalt DWE7480 and you can now use its telescopic fence for up to 28 inch accurate measuring to the right of the blade and 12 inches cuts to the right side. The other thing we loved about the DeWalt was the fact that it has a modular guarding system so you can switch it around to find the perfect configuration for each job.

If you are willing to pay a little bit extra for an upgrade in quality across the board, the Bosch GTS1031 may just be the answer to your dreams. The first thing to understand about this unit is that its power is measured in horse power, just like it is on a cabinet table saw. At 4 HP it is actually more powerful than some entry level cabinet table saws and it can definitely rip through anything you care to put in front of its 10 inch blade. The Bosch blade spins at 5000 RPM so slightly faster than the DeWalt. And you have to consider the fact that the Bosch weighs just 40 pounds. Those 8 pounds may not sound like much, but at the end of a long day even a cup of tea seems heavy.

The one place where the Bosch comes up short in comparison with the DeWalt is that its telescopic rails only allow the fence to go as far out as 18 inches. However we were truly impressed by the Square Lock award winning Bosch technology that self squares once you lock the fence into position and applies the brakes on both sides of the fence. However, the one thing that you have to consider is that the Bosch comes at a much higher price than the DeWalt and all those fancy improvements may not be worth the financial effort. Bottom line is that, if price is not an issue, get the Bosch, but if money is tight go for the DeWalt as it will serve your very well.

If money is so tight that you are not sure you can even afford to buy a table saw, the last of our contractor table saws reviews might come with the answer you were looking for. It is nowhere near as powerful or precise as the other saws we have talked about but the SKIL 3410-02 will help you get the job done if you cannot afford anything else. The fence only stretches out to 18 inches to the right and 12 inches to the left, but it does use a self aligning system that is quite accurate.

In terms of power the SKIL 3410-02 does use a 15 Amps, 2 hp motor spinning the blade at 3850 RPM. That means it is both powerful and fast enough to cut through any type of wood you may be working with. The only real disadvantage of the Skill is that the fence does not come out as far as it should and it is not as accurate as on the DeWalt or the Bosch. However, the SKILL is a lot cheaper than anyone of those units and you can always use your own measuring system each time you need to cut a piece of wood to length.
